Set Appliance State:

Isolate Mains Power to appliance as per TOPs P4
Set Multimeter to mVolts DC Set meter to measure DC mVolts
Function selector in standby position
Disconnect flame sense lead at the in line connector
Attach probe leads via crocodile clips to the disconnected flame sense lead (end that runs to the electrode) and an earth connection
Selector Switch to Hot Water and Heating
WARNING! Mains voltage is expected during test, follow TOPs P4 live testing procedure
Mains Power On

Measurement:

Turn hot tap on.
Turn function selector to the DHW position, allow ignition sequence
to run and burner to ignite.
While burner is alight does the multimeter show a voltage of
at least 50 mVolts DC.
Note:
The burner will only stay alight for approx 3 seconds
as flame proving will not take place.
