Set Appliance State:

Set Multimeter to DC Volts 
CH Demand
CH Selector in Maximum position
ON/OFF Switch in ON position
Summer/Winter in Winter Position (IN)
Timer Set to ON Position
CH Selector in Maximum position
ON/OFF Switch in ON position
Summer/Winter in Winter Position (IN)
Timer Set to ON Position
Gain access to clock connections (use insulation mat as necessary)

Measurement:
On the back of the Timer measure the voltage between the two orange wires connected to terminals 3 and 5.
With the Timer set to ON expect 0v DC across the connection

If external controls are not fitted ensure the link is in place.

Isolate as per TOPs P4
and refit as necessary
