Set Appliance State:

Mains Power Off
Gas Off
Set Multimeter to Resistance Set meter to measure resistance
Remove plug from pilot solenoid (secured by 1 central screw)

Measurement:

Measure the resistance across the two smaller terminals which are opposite each other. Resistance should be approximately 2 kOhms.
Replace plug after test
