Set Appliance State:
| Isolate Mains Power to appliance as per TOPs P4 |
Set Multimeter to Resistance 
Ensure there is a demand on the external controls
Measurement:
If an external link is NOT fitted measure the resistance across brown terminal strip at the red wire and the neutral terminal (blue wire) of the external controls block.
