Observation:
With no demand and ambient temperature above 9 degrees C does the boiler attempt to run?
Note:
The appliance has a built in frost protection function, if it senses a temperature of 8 degrees C the pump will run to average system temperature.
If the temperature is less than 5 degrees C then the boiler will fire with no demand present, this is normal operation.
The manufacturers do not recommend the use of an external frost thermostat, however if an external frost thermostat has been fitted then this should be checked, (i.e. that it is not calling for heat).
