Room thermostat (if fitted) calling
Attach temperature clamps to flow and return pipes

Observation:
Allow boiler to ignite and reach a reasonable flow temperature, e.g. 55°C.
Measure the differential across the flow and return pipe.
Expect approximately 18°C or less.
Notes:
To reduce the time for the test the heating load can be reduced by turning off some radiators.
Differential may be higher at initial system start-up.
