Set Appliance State:

Isolate Mains Power to appliance as per TOPs P4
Set Multimeter to Resistance Set meter to measure resistance
Remove the leads from the gas valve

Measurement:

Measure the resistance across the bottom 2 pins (4 & 5) on the gas valve.
The resistance should be approx. 8 MOhms.
