DIVERTER VALVE STIMULUS

Set Appliance State:

Turn Hot Water Tap On

Isolate Mains Power to appliance as per TOPs P4

Observation:

Carefully remove the Diverter Valve Assembly, situated in front of the water section (after draining and discharging the boiler), and with water flowing from the hot tap carefully attempt to push the water section spindle back into the housing using the side of a flat bladed screwdriver.
Considerable resistance will be felt if the diaphragm assembly is in good condition, very little resistance will be offered if defective.

Using a flat bladed screwdriver try and push the spindle back inside the housing. If the diaphragm is in good condition, the spindle will not retract.
