Set Appliance State:

Set Multimeter to Resistance Set meter to measure resistance
Isolate Mains Power to appliance as per TOPs P4
Disconnect the ignition lead

Measurement:

Check the ignition lead for continuity and for any signs of damage.
Note.
The ignition lead runs from the lower of the two gas valves.
