Set Appliance State:
Set Multimeter to Resistance 
Isolate Mains Power to appliance as per TOPs P4
Measurement:
Check the earth lead for continuity / zero resistance
Also visually inspect the condition of the earth lead coming from the ignition electrode to the earthing spur paying attention to the actual connections to the main earthing spur and chassis.
Does the lead have continuity and look in good condition
