Observation:
Allow boiler to ignite and run for central heating.
Access the diagnostic display by pressing the Mode and + buttons until the screen changes.
Use the +/- buttons to scroll to 96 then hold the mode button for 5 secs.
The screen will alternately display L1 and a number (usually 0).
This indicates that you have level 1 access, the number being the diagnostic number.
Use +/- to scroll to D40 (this is the flow temperature) then press the mode button display the value.
Allow boiler to run until the flow temperature has either reached approx 60°C or has stabilised.
Make a note of the temperature.
Press the mode button to return to the list of diagnostic code numbers
then access D41 (this is the return temperature) in the same way that you accessed D40.
Is the temperature differential between the flow and return approximately 22°C or less?
