Set Appliance State:

CH Demand
Remove dust cap from gas valve soft light adjustment screw
then use screwdriver to adjust one step towards maximum
Ensure boiler is cool
then use screwdriver to adjust one step towards maximum
Ensure boiler is cool
Gas On

Observation:
Reset boiler if it is in lockout.
Does the burner now cross light correctly?
Repeat test as necessary, slowly increasing soft light pressure until ignition is satisfactory. Wait 20 seconds between each ignition attempt to allow gas valve's internal servo system to reset.

Isolate as per TOPs P4
and refit as necessary
