Set Appliance State:

Mains Power Off

Set Multimeter to DC Volts

CH Demand

WARNING! - Mains voltage is expected during test follow
TOPs P4 live testing procedure

Mains Power On

Measurement:

Reset appliance if required (press reset button for 2 seconds and release).
Measure for DC voltage across pin 1 (brown lead) of
connector X21 and a suitable earth connection.
While burner is a light, an expected voltage of approximately
-5.9 Vdc (negative voltage) should be present.

Burner ignited, sparking continues

Note.
1. Ensure a good connection is made as misdiagnosis will occur.
2. With burner alight, sparking will continue for approximately 4 seconds, then restarts after approximately 6 seconds. This will be repeated 5 times before lockout occurs, reset as required until test complete.
3. It may take approximately 40 seconds for the boiler to recognise a demand, this will depend upon the boiler status. (Status code guidance CLICK HERE)
