Observation:
Carry out a tightness test in accordance with operational procedures on the installation with the boilers' gas isolation valve in the open position. Make a note of any drop.
If there is a drop on the installation isolate the boiler and repeat the tightness test making a note of the drop a second time.
If the drop stops or reduces with the appliance isolation valve shut this indicates the gas valve is passing and it will need to be replaced. The appliance must be made safe in accordance with procedures until a replacement valve is fitted.
Note:
After completing this test ensure all disturbed joints are checked for gas soundness and that any drop on the installation is within permissible limits.
