Set Appliance State:

Set Multimeter to Resistance 
Disconnect brown and blue wires at the fan
Measurement:
Test 1:
Measure the resistance between the two exposed spades for the fan.
Resistance should be approximately 40 Ohms.
Test :
Measure the resistance between one of the exposed spades to the fan earth point.
Resistance should be greater than 1M Ohm.
Measure the resistance between the two exposed spades for the fan.
Resistance should be approximately 40 Ohms.
Test :
Measure the resistance between one of the exposed spades to the fan earth point.
Resistance should be greater than 1M Ohm.
Isolate as per TOPs P4
and refit as necessary
