Set Appliance State:

Appliance drained and discharged
Remove the brass bypass housing (located between the flow and return pipes under the appliance as shown in the image)
Separate the two halves
Remove the bypass valve assembly (there are two different housings for the bypass valve but the internal mechanism is the same for both)

Separate the two halves
Remove the bypass valve assembly (there are two different housings for the bypass valve but the internal mechanism is the same for both)
Observation:
Visually inspect the bypass valve assembly to check that it is intact and in good condition.
Also press the centre of the valve with a screwdriver, there should be some very slight spring pressure.
Is the bypass valve in good condition and does it operate as described?

Isolate as per TOPs P4
and refit as necessary
