Set Appliance State:

Isolate Mains Power to appliance as per TOPs P4
Set Multimeter to Resistance Set meter to measure resistance
Disconnect the lead from the detection electrode
Remove detection electrode from burner

Measurement:

Measure the resistance of the detection electrode from end to end.
Expect continuity / zero resistance.
Also thoroughly inspect the detection electrode for:
  • Cracks and damage to the electrode ceramic.
  • Distortion.
  • Good general condition.
