Set Appliance State:

Isolate Mains Power to appliance as per TOPs P4
Set Multimeter to Resistance Set meter to measure resistance
Disconnect and remove ignition lead from heat exchanger / spark generator

Measurement:

Check spark electrode and lead is in good overall condition:
  • Ceramic uncracked
  • Spark gap between electrodes should be 3.5mm +/- 1mm
  • Lead not damaged or shorting
    Measure the resistance from the tip of the electrode to the end of the lead.
    (if needed clean tip of electrode to get a good connection)

    Resistance should be approximately 1.2kΩ
    Note:
    Ensure all disturbed seals and washers
    are in good condition on reassembly.
