Basic Pump Checks
Although this page shows Grundfos pumps, the principle remains the same for any pump with a bleed screw whether fitted to an appliance or externally in the system.
Unfortunately with pumps such as the Alpha2 there is no bleed screw to check the pump in this way. For this situation you will need to remove the head of the pump and inspect the rotation of the impeller and the condition of the body water ways.
1. Isolate Mains Power to System as per TOPs P4
2. Remove the cover from the electrical box or the plug if one is fitted.
3. Check that the the cable entering the pump is sound and that the wiring connections are secure.
4. If working on a UPS or UPS2 you can remove the bleed screw (water may be released) and use an appropriate screw driver to check the pumps rotation.
5. If you are working on a UPS3 then you can use the built in "de-blocking screw" for more information CLICK HERE.
