Set Appliance State:
Mains Power Off
Attach temperature clamps to the central heating flow and return pipes as near as possible to the appliance - pipe locations are indicated by the red arrows

Observation:
Allow the boiler to fire and run in central heating mode for a few minutes.
Measure the temperature differential.
Expect a reading of approximately 30°C or less.
Notes:
1. If it is not possible to attach temperature clamps to the pipework then temperature probes can be used.
2. The initial temperature differential measured may be greater than 30°C when the system is heated from cold.
3. It may be possible to reduce the time taken for this test by turning off some radiators.
