Set Appliance State:

Set Multimeter to Resistance 
Remove the PCB from the fan assembly
Measurement:
Test 1.
Is the fan assembly free to rotate without restriction ?
Test 2.
Measure the resistance between the exposed terminals on the fan.
Expected resistance approximately 78 ohms.
Test 3.
Measure the resistance between an exposed fan terminal and a
suitable earth point.
Expected resistance greater than 1 Mohm.
A reading of O.L on Test 3 is acceptable as this is greater than 1 Mohm.
Test 4.
Check the electrical connection between the fan motor terminals
and the fan PCB.
Is the fan assembly free to rotate without restriction ?

Measure the resistance between the exposed terminals on the fan.
Expected resistance approximately 78 ohms.
Test 3.
Measure the resistance between an exposed fan terminal and a
suitable earth point.
Expected resistance greater than 1 Mohm.
A reading of O.L on Test 3 is acceptable as this is greater than 1 Mohm.
Test 4.
Check the electrical connection between the fan motor terminals
and the fan PCB.
