Set Appliance State:

Set Multimeter to Resistance 
Remove the connector from the gas valve
Measurement:
Test 1:
Measure the resistance between the two outer terminals
of the gas valve.
Expect approximately 4.2 kohms.
Test 2:
Measure the resistance between the top terminal of the gas valve and the earth at the incoming mains supply.
Expect a resistance greater than 1 Mohm.
Are the resistances measured as above?
Measure the resistance between the two outer terminals

Measure the resistance between the top terminal of the gas valve and the earth at the incoming mains supply.
Expect a resistance greater than 1 Mohm.
Are the resistances measured as above?
Isolate as per TOPs P4
and refit as necessary
