Isolate Mains Power to appliance as per TOPs P4
Isolate Water and Gas as appropriate

Location:
In most cases the ignition lead can be trimmed back by approximately 10mm to create a new end for the ignition cap to screw into.
Upon completion of the fault diagnostics carry out final electrical safety tests and checks as per TOPs (C6).
