Set Appliance State:

Isolate Mains Power to appliance as per TOPs P4
Set Multimeter to Resistance Set meter to measure resistance
Disconnect the grey leads from the Overheat stat

Measurement:

Measure resistance across the terminals of the overheat stat.
Expect either O.L or short circuit.
