Set Appliance State:

Gas On; Pilot On
Selector switch in HOT WATER position

Observation:
Extinguish pilot by turning gas control knob approximately 1/12 (approximately 30 degrees) clockwise.
This will cause pilot flame to go out and gas valve to snap shut.
After a short period, a click should be heard as the mag valve closes.
