Set Appliance State:
Mains Power Off
Gas Off
Selector Switch in HOT WATER position
Gas On; Pilot On

Observation:
Extinguish the Pilot by turning the Gas Control Knob approx 1/12 of a turn Clockwise. This will cause the Gas Valve to snap shut. After a short period a click should be heard as the mag valve closes.
