Set Appliance State:
| Isolate Mains Power to appliance as per TOPs P4 |
Set Multimeter to Resistance 
Remove the ignition electrode from the burner door
Disconnect ignition lead from the spark generator
Disconnect earth lead from electrode and from the spark generator
Disconnect ignition lead from the spark generator
Disconnect earth lead from electrode and from the spark generator
Measurement:
Test 1.
Measure the resistance of the ignition electrode and lead.
Expected resistance approximately 1 KOhm.
Thoroughly inspect the ignition electrode and lead for cracks / damage to the ceramic, distortion, overall condition and ensure spark gap is approx. 4mm.
Test 2.
Measure the resistance of the earth lead.
Expected continuity / zero resistance.
Also visually inspect the condition of the earth lead.
Measure the resistance of the ignition electrode and lead.
Expected resistance approximately 1 KOhm.
Thoroughly inspect the ignition electrode and lead for cracks / damage to the ceramic, distortion, overall condition and ensure spark gap is approx. 4mm.
Test 2.
Measure the resistance of the earth lead.
Expected continuity / zero resistance.
Also visually inspect the condition of the earth lead.
