Set Appliance State:

Isolate flow and return valves
Discharge appliance primary water
Disconnect the entire return pipe (above the pump) as the rubber hose may be brittle and break if directly removed
Discharge appliance primary water
Disconnect the entire return pipe (above the pump) as the rubber hose may be brittle and break if directly removed
Observation:
Pour water through one end of the pipe to check for signs of restriction by accumulation of sludge in the hose.
Isolate as per TOPs P4
and refit as necessary
