Set Appliance State:

Set Multimeter to Continuity Set meter to measure Continuity
Isolate Mains Power to appliance
as per TOP's P4

Measurement:

Remove and inspect the electrode and lead.
Ensure the ceramic is not cracked.
Check the continuity of the electrode and lead.
Refit the electrode and lead after test.
