Set Appliance State:

Isolate Mains Power to appliance as per TOPs P4
Set Multimeter to Resistance Set meter to measure resistance
Remove spark electrode assembly from the appliance

Measurement:

Thoroughly inspect the electrode for;
  • Cracks and damage to the electrode ceramic
  • Distortion
  • Good general condition
  • Gap between spark electrodes approximately 4.0 mm
  • Resistance / continuity of electrode and lead,
    expected resistance continuity / zero resistance
    Also visually inspect the condition of the lead.
    Note:
    It may be necessary to clean the electrode first for continuity test.
