Set Appliance State:

CH Demand
Gain access to PCB (use Insulation Mat as required)

Observation:
Appliance may be fitted with either 24V DC or 240V AC controls. If you know what type of control is fitted carry out the 24V or 240V test as appropriate. If you are unsure carry out both tests.
240V Control - Multimeter Set to AC Volts
Measure the voltage between the second pin down
(black wire) on X17 to a suitable earth point.
Mains voltage should be present.
24V Control - Multimeter Set to DC Volts
Measure the voltage between the second pin down
(red wire) on X19 to a suitable earth point.
Approx 0V should be present.
240V Control - Multimeter Set to AC Volts
Measure the voltage between the second pin down
(black wire) on X17 to a suitable earth point.
Mains voltage should be present.
24V Control - Multimeter Set to DC Volts
Measure the voltage between the second pin down
(red wire) on X19 to a suitable earth point.
Approx 0V should be present.
Isolate as per TOPs P4
and refit as necessary
