Set Appliance State:
Set Multimeter to DC Volts 
Turn Hot Water Tap On
Isolate Mains Power to appliance as per TOPs P4
Gain access to PCB (use insulation mat as necessary)
Ease connector J2 slightly off PCB to expose the silver strip to allow for testing with probes
Gain access to PCB (use insulation mat as necessary)
Ease connector J2 slightly off PCB to expose the silver strip to allow for testing with probes

Measurement:
Measure the DC voltage between the terminal in line with the Pink wire at connector J2 on the PCB and a suitable earth.
Expect 5 - 7 VDC.
Expect 5 - 7 VDC.
Isolate as per TOPs P4
and refit as necessary
