OBSERVATION DISCONNECT CONDENSATE PUMP (SPARKING)

Set Appliance State:

Gas Off

Isolate Mains Power to appliance as per TOPs P4

Turn Hot Water Tap On

Remove ignition electrode from the burner door
Screw the ignition electrode onto the heat exchanger mounting bracket (as shown)
Remove condensate connector from X40 and make safe

WARNING! - Mains voltage is expected during test follow
TOPs P4 live testing procedure

Mains Power On

Observation:

Reset appliance as required and allow appliance to commence its ignition sequence.
Approximately 5 seconds after the fan has started,
can sparking now be observed between the electrodes with the connector X40 removed?

Note:
Do NOT touch the electrode during this test and stand well clear.

Note:
1. The images show the test being carried out with the side panel removed but the test can be completed with the side panel attached.
2. If sparking now occurs the connector MUST be refitted after this test and the fault with the condensate pump MUST be rectified as it is not acceptable to leave this connector removed.
3. If sparking still does not occur the condensate pump connector MUST be refitted after this test before continuing.
