The PCB's operating system can become corrupted causing the display to shut down.
The reason behind this issue is currently unverified.
A normal "reset" or "power off and on" is not sufficient to reset the PCB.
Changing the DSN number and then changing it back causes the PCB to re load in a different way and effectively "hard resets" the PCB, this can sometimes reset the operating system and resolve the fault permanently.
This "hard reset" can remove the need to replace the PCB, however sometimes the problem may reoccur, if this is the case the PCB will need to be replaced.
