Set Appliance State:

Isolate Mains Power to appliance as per TOPs P4
Set Multimeter to Resistance Set meter to measure resistance
Disconnect ignition and earth leads from the spark generator

Measurement:

Check the resistance between the ends of the leads. Continuity (zero resistance) should be measured on both.
Also inspect the leads overall condition.
