Set Appliance State:

Set Multimeter to Resistance 
Remove the leads from the gas valve.
Measurement:
Test 1:
Measure the Resistance across the two outer terminals of the gas valve.
Expect approximately 4.1 KOhms
Test 2:
Measure the Resistance between the left hand terminal
on the gas valve solenoid and Earth.
Expected resistance greater than 1 MOhm.
Test 3:
Measure the Resistance between the right hand terminal
on the gas valve solenoid and Earth
Expected resistance greater than 1 MOhm.
Note.
A reading of O.L on tests 2 and 3 is acceptable as this is greater than 1 MOhm.
Measure the Resistance across the two outer terminals of the gas valve.
Expect approximately 4.1 KOhms

Measure the Resistance between the left hand terminal
on the gas valve solenoid and Earth.
Expected resistance greater than 1 MOhm.
Test 3:
Measure the Resistance between the right hand terminal
on the gas valve solenoid and Earth
Expected resistance greater than 1 MOhm.
Note.
A reading of O.L on tests 2 and 3 is acceptable as this is greater than 1 MOhm.
Isolate as per TOPs P4
and refit as necessary
