Set Appliance State:
Gas Off
| Isolate Mains Power to appliance as per TOPs P4 |
CH Demand
Temperature control set to MAX
Remove air intake from appliance
Loosen the front ignition lead so that 2cm is visible
outside the spark generator
Note:
Some harnesses connect both ignition leads as a plug,
if this is the case both leads will be loosened however
this does not affect the test.

Observation:
Reset appliance as necessary, allow appliance to
complete its self check and ignition sequence to begin.
Shortly after the fan runs much louder sparking should be heard from the spark generator.
As the boiler will not ignite it will go to lockout after 5 attempts at ignition.
Once you are confident whether sparking is present or not click here to return to the burner ignition page.
