Set Appliance State:

Isolate Mains Power to appliance as per TOPs P4
Set Multimeter to Resistance Set meter to measure resistance
Disconnect leads from the two gas valve solenoids

Measurement:

Test 1: Main Solenoid
Measure the resistance across the top and bottom spades of the main solenoid (right hand side).
Resistance should be approximately 4.3k - 5.3kΩ.

Measure the resistance between the top and left spades of the main solenoid.
Resistance should be greater than 1MΩ (or O.L).

If both resistances are correct continue to test 2, otherwise
select "main solenoid resistance is wrong" below.

Test 2: Pilot Solenoid
Measure the resistance across the two spades of the pilot solenoid (left hand side)
Resistance should be approximately 1.5kΩ.

Measure the resistance between one of the spades for the pilot solenoid to a suitable earth point.
Resistance should be greater than 1MΩ (or O.L).
Note:
Gas valve may differ in appearance but tests remain the same.
