OBSERVATION SPARKING AT IGNITION CONTROL BOX

Set Appliance State:

Gas Off

Isolate Mains Power to appliance as per TOPs P4

CH Demand

Unclip Aquastat PCB from its bracket
Disconnect spark electrode lead from its terminal and position it so it is resting just above its terminal as shown so any spark can be seen

WARNING! - Mains voltage is expected during test follow
TOPs P4 live testing procedure

Mains Power On

Observation:

Allow the fan to run and observe the ignition control box.
Is there a spark present between the ignition control box terminal and the ignition lead?

Note:
Do NOT try to hold the ignition lead in position.

Notes:
1. If sparking is not present do not refit the ignition lead and Aquastat PCB housing.
2. It may be necessary to use a crocodile clip or tape to help position the lead.
