If the inlet pressure you have measured at the appliance is inadequate (based on industry standards or manufacturers requirements) then the following checks and information may help identify the cause:
- Is the appliance gas isolation valve fully open?
- Is there is an inlet filter on the gas valve? Is it clear and unrestricted?
- Is there any water ingress to the gas installation or supply pipework?
- If the installation is LPG check there is sufficient gas in the storage vessel(s).
- Is the working pressure at the inlet pressure test point for the installation (meter or AECV) correct as per industry standards?
- If the pressure is correct as it enters the property/installation check there are no additional isolation valves on the pipework leading to the appliance, if fitted ensure they are fully open.
- If the pressure is incorrect and you are testing at an AECV check further upstream to see if there are any additional isolation valves, meters or governors/regulators that could be causing the issue.
- Should the pressure prove to be low at the main meter it may be necessary to contact the gas supplier or distributor to check the supply to the property.
