GAS VALVE VOLTAGE

Set Appliance State:

Isolate Mains Power to appliance as per TOPs P4

Set Multimeter to AC Volts

CH Demand

External controls calling for heat
Locate the gas valve harness connector on the PCB
(R/H side, back connector, black, brown and blue wires)
Gain access to PCB (use isolation Mat as required)

WARNING! Mains voltage is expected during test, follow TOPs P4 live testing procedure

Mains Power On

Measurement:

WARNING! Be aware there are a set of 4 pins at the rear of the board that are live with mains voltage.
Reset boiler as necessary and allow ignition sequence to start and sparking to commence.
Test 1: Measure the voltage across the brown wire on the connector (back right) on the PCB and the blue neutral on the same connector.

Note:
Voltage will only be present for approximately 10 seconds during the sparking phase of the ignition sequence.

Test 2: Measure the voltage across the black wire on the connector (back right) on the PCB and the blue neutral on the same connector.

Test is carried out with connector in-situ, attached to the PCB.
