Attach temperature clamps to flow and return pipes above the appliance as indicated by the red arrows

Observation:
Allow the boiler to run with the central heating demand.
(the appliance will not fire but this does not affect the test)
Measure the temperature differential.
Expect a differential of approximately 20°C or less.
Is the temperature differential as expected?
