Set Appliance State:
| Isolate Mains Power to appliance as per TOPs P4 |
Measurement:
Inspect the plate of the electrode for date of manufacture, there are two numbers stamped onto it which denote the month and year of manufacture.
An electrode with the week 17 or 31 in 2007 will need replacing.
These electrodes are known to cause hard ignition.
If the date is ok carefully remove the spark electrode from the top of the burner box.
Check that the spark gap is approximately 4mm.
Inspect spark electrode and ceramic for cracks or damage.
Test for continuity between the tip of the electrode and the base.
Ensure that the gasket is complete and undamaged before refitting the electrode.
