Observation:
Thoroughly visually inspect the flue collector and the seal between it and the primary heat exchanger for any sign of leaks.
These are prone to cracking / leaking which can cause safety issues as well as operational problems with the appliance.
Moisture present in the casing can cause components to fail / generate intermittent faults and also flue gas recirculation can occur causing ignition and baffling issues.
Are the flue collector and its seals satisfactory?

It will be necessary to use a mirror and a torch to inspect the flue collector and its seals.
